Grow a little something
Along with sorting through memories and cleaning closets, I’ve been getting the idea that creating something, growing something, doing something you haven’t done before is important while we see through the end of this season of uncertainty.
Thinking on this, I’ve been seeing lots of ideas about hydroponic gardening. I wondered what I could do. So I started with celery and bok choy in little custard cups. And voila! I was amazed at how rapidly these vegetable ends sprouted up green and lively.
At the same time, a friend lent me the book, The Secret Life of Plants, which somehow I had never gotten around to reading. Now I am talking with my geranium and experimenting with some alchemical ideas to nurture that relationship.
Creativity seems to be abounding in so many ways, whether it be mask making or heart centered art or music and meetings across the miles. It’s okay if it’s something small. It’s about the joy in the growing and the small messages of hope and the seed we plant where we are.
What are you growing?
